SAT. 4/1 PARR-BOSWELL-NUMEN'S HISTORICAL HYSTERICAL Oddball Film's Stephen Parr teams up with A/V maestro Mark Boswell and mixmaster Ugene Numen in an experimental media meltdown that promises to electrify, entertain, and enlighten. Parr brings in his "ideologically overdeveloped" propaganda program, Boswell unspools The Memory Corporation plus newer work, and Numen cuts the archival audio with contempo beats. Environ-Mental! SAT. 4/8 CRISPIN GLOVER IN HARRIS' ORKLY KID April Fool's Day! Trent (Plan 10 from Outer Space) Harris' truly eccentric cult short features Glover playing the small-town boy who cross-dresses as Olivia Newton John and dreams of TV stardom. PLUS The Beaver Kid, the doc on the actual drag dude that in fact inspired Glover's performance. ALSO Wild Goose + other Harris. Show starts at 8:30 pm, admission is $5.

SAT. 4/15 NORWOOD CHEEK'S FLICKER FESTIVAL Originally out of Chapel Hill but now based in Los Angeles, Norwood is shooting up the West Coast to share his "Pick-Hit" program of S8 and 16mm shorts with mini-cines along the way. This mix of doc, experimental, narrative, and animation includes over a dozen of the Southland's best, plus, of course, free champagne to salute Sir NC. Show starts at 8:30 pm, admission is $5. |

SAT. 4/22 ARON RANEN'S & BENJAMIN BRITTON'S DID WE GO? + TV BELIEVERS Ranen's gonzo video investigations boldly go where the professional hack would have the good taste not to tread. This former Valencia St. denizen returns triumphant to debut his magnum opus on the moon landing hoax. Hilarious and alarming, his cross-country romp parlays barroom chats, bathroom jokes, and the NASA-Nazi connection into a compelling personal quest. Executive production by Benjamin Britton.
