CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR THE FALL 2013 ISSUE OF
OtherZine!
OtherZine 25 will be published in September 2013.
Proposals are due July 1, 2013.
A proposal can include (but certainly isn't limited to) a description, outline, incomplete draft, schematic, or other articulated brainstorm. If you already have something written or published, that's great too. Please note that while writing a proposal is not required for submitting an article or other piece of writing, it is highly recommended.
Final submissions are due August 12, 2013.
We suggest 1000-2000 words for any written work, though please don't hesitate to contact us if you have something else in mind...we are very open to suggestions for projects as yet unimagined!
At this time we are unable to pay for any contributions.

A little more about us
OtherZine is the semi-annual 'zine of Other Cinema, the long-standing bastion of experimental film, video, and performance in San Francisco's Mission District.
Whether avant-garde or engagé, our emphasis is on the radical subjectivities and sub-cultural sensibilities that find expression in marginalized cinematic genres, media archaeology efforts, as well as contemporary intermedia hybrids.
We encourage cinema-related writings and artist projects that support these endeavors and other experiments in media culture-essays, articles, interviews, reviews (art, books, media, events), rants, videos, illustrations, images, and other articulated brainstorms!
Submission Guidelines
~Please email all written submissions, 1000-2000 words, as an attachment (pdf, doc, rtf; no docx, please)
~Please include with your final submission:
1. A bio of no more than 100 words
2. Relevant links (no more than 4) [optional]
3. We encourage and accept any of the following media for artist projects, or to illustrate your writing:
Video (vimeo or youtube links; mov)
Audio (SoundCloud link; mp3, wma)* [please confirm before submitting]
Web-ready images/screenshots (links; 72dpi, jpg, png, gif)
Please send as attachments, unless the images are available online.
If you choose not to provide any, some may be chosen for you.
Please also include all relevant credit info.
NOTE: All quotations, titles, names, and dates should be double-checked for accuracy. The same applies to references in any endnotes.
