JEANNE LIOTTA (NYC/COLORADO) makes films & other ephemera at an intimate & lively intersection of art, science, and natural philosophy. OBSERVANDO EL CIELO, her 2007 film of the night skies, won the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam Film Festival and has been named among the best films of the decade. Her works have been seen at the New York Film Festival, the Whitney Biennial, Museum Of Contemporary Art Denver, Arthouse Texas, the Exploratorium San Francisco, Punto de Vista Documentary Festival Spain, the BFI Southbank London, and the Camera Club of New York, among many other venues.

For 17 years she organized the free community garden screening series Firefly Cinema, working closely with the New York Public Library's film collection. Together with Bradley Eros she worked extensively on the Joseph Cornell Film Collection at Anthology Film Archives. Most recently she has curated , a series of poetry videos at Counterpath Press Gallery in Denver.

Jeanne has taught widely and variously, at the New School NYC, the San Francisco Art Institute, the Museum School Boston. She is presently Assistant Professor in Film Studies at University of Colorado Boulder, and is also part of the Film/Video faculty at the Bard MFA program.
